Welcome to the readme of the "French Small Town Names" Set!
There is already a really good "French Town Names" Set made by ElDwayne, Alexboy and Ammler (Kudos to them). It contains the most famous French town names. I wanted to introduce other town names, ones that are probably not as well-known.

This NewGRF is a Town Names Set, which will provide you with 34,030 french town names. They are divided in 6 sub-sets:
	- Smallest (default): 32,640 names. From the smallest towns and villages. The biggest town has 6,200 inhabitants. The 6 smallest localities have 0 inhabitants, as they were heavily bombed during WWI, with lots of not detonated bombs still in the ground. People living here were relocated.
	- Biggest: 2,040 names. A bit like ElDwayne-Alexboy-Ammler's set, it provides names of well-known french towns, which incidentally are the most populated ones.
	- Lonely: 19,636 names. Town whose names are made from a single word. Hence "lonely".
	- Sociable: 14,394 names. Towns whose names are made from two words or more.
	- Definitely: 1,942 names. Towns whose names begin with a definite article (Le, La, Les, L' in french).
	- Saints: 3,716 names. Towns named after local saints.

1. How to use this set

If you are reading this, you probably already have downloaded the NewGRF (via Online Content, Banana Co., or the tt-forums). The .grf file should be where all the other NewGRFs are located (which may vary depending on the OS you use). It comes in a .tar archive.

Because of a NewGRF limitation, the subsets are to be selected via the NewGRFs parameter interface first, and then be sure to change to the custom town names set in the game settings. At least that's how it works for OTTD. So, in a nutshell:

	1. Add the "French Small Town Names" Set to your NewGRF list
	2. Select the subset you want with the NewGRF parameter
	3. In Game Options > Town Names, select the Subset (should appear on top of the list)
	4. Play.

2. Contact

Suggestions are welcome! There is a topic in the tt-forums (https://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=75834) where any new idea should be sent. PM work, as well.

3. Translations

This NewGRF is already translated in French. Spanish and German translations pending. If you want to translate this set into another language, the forum thread (see 2. Contact) contains a .lng file that you can modify, and send it via PM or in the thread.

5. Thanks

Thank you OTTD developers, amazing game! Special thanks to David Dallaston (pikka) for all your GRFs (especially NARS 2.5, which I prefer to the version 2.03 by the way) and for your NFO tutorial as well. And thank you fellow reader for having read this really boring readme (I say thank you because even though it says 'readme', it is in fact not mandatory). Eat kiwis!
